Yahk Elementary School is a rural school in the south-east corner of British Columbia, located on Highway 3 between Creston and Cranbrook. In 2008-9 the school enrolled 21 students in kindergarten to grade 7. There are two full time teachers and the principal is on site three days a week. Other staff include a teacher assistant, part time secretary, part time library clerk, custodian and noon hour supervisor.
Parents and members of the wider Yahk community actively support the students and participate in school events. Volunteers are working with us this year to continue the wild plant habitat garden and to help send our students to fine arts and sports events in Creston and Cranbrook.
