Social Responsibility – What a large goal for any school to take on. Who is in charge of monitoring this goal? Who do we want to be responsible?
Rosemont has chosen a committee of 6 students (Gr. 4-6), 3 Parents and 3 Staff, named 2-4-C to ensure a safe environment at Rosemont. Our school is based on the 4 C’s of: Caring, Courtesy, Commitment to Learning and Common Sense.
All rules in Rosemont fall under these 4 C’s and all students are asked to know them. 2-4-C is based on the idea that “to foresee” problems before they happen and to be pro-active is better than to be re-active. The 2-4-C team meets 5-6 times a year and looks at out evidence of how we are doing, if we need more supervision and common strategies that are working well. The 2-4-C have purchased a banner the school ‘signed’ We Care We Share We Dare: have a hand wall against bullying, the new 4C school sign, and our ‘Include Everyone” signs.
Staff and students give out Gotcha’s to those we catch following our 4’C’s and each Thursday we run a Gotcha Store where students turn in their Gotcha’s for merchandise once a month. All spent Gotcha’s are entered in a draw at our Gotcha Recognition Assembly for a prize.
The 2-4-C team along with the counsellor teaches the Rosemont Rules for playground games to the students so that all students can have a positive recess and lunch experience.
