Blewett KidZone After School Program:

The KidZone program operates from 12:00 - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on most Pro-D days.  This program encourages literacy through age appropriate stories and activities.  Through a variety of games and craft projects, students are also helped to develop social skills through the reinforcement of turn-taking, using words to communicate their needs, and cooperative play.

Kyokushun Karate:

Kyokushin Karate is now being offered (for children and adults) at Blewett School on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30 – 3:30 by parent Keith Klughart.  Sessions for adults are held on Mondays, Thurs. and Fri. from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  Keith is the current Canadian Knockdown Champion.  The International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan (Canada) is responsible for establishing and administering Canadian Standards; certifying and regulating Canadian instructors; and providing direction and administrative support to affiliated dojos. 

Participants in the IKOK-C have the opportunity to:

 - Fulfill their potential for personal development in the Kyokushin way, regardless of age and ability level;

 - Develop a high level of skill in the martial arts, including mental and physical discipline and to be able to defend themselves in threatening situations.

My Parent Rewards Discount Cards:

Passport to the Kootenays books are no longer available and have been replaced with the My Parent Rewards Discount Card .  These cards can be viewed at www.MyParentRewards.com and can be purchased from Jane at the office for $20.00 each.  Blewett School receives $8.00 for each card sold.  This is an important fundraiser for our school - please support us!
